The Northern British Columbia Tourism Association, covering over 53% of the province, is one of six Regional Destination Marketing Organizations (RDMO’s) under the industry umbrella created by Tourism British Columbia in 1997. We are a stakeholder governed non-profit association which strives to increase the number of visitors to Northern BC through the collaborative development, implementation and evaluation of an annual regional marketing plan.
Our mandate is to encourage a greater number of tourist visits, as well as tourism revenues, to Northern B.C. through the development and implementation of cost-effective marketing programs, in partnership with our members and the tourism industry. Our annual marketing program includes (but is not limited to) lure brochures, attendance at consumer and trade shows, media relations, trade relations and sector advertising.
Our diverse voting stakeholders annually elect Directors to the Board of Directors from the voting stakeholder base, who in turn develop, direct and evaluate the policies by which the organization is operated and managed.
